How to think Like an Epidemiologist

Course Description: This course will introduce students to the basic concepts of epidemiology, with a focus on topics that are relevant to current ongoing research that impact public health policy. Most of the course will be lecture-based with lots of time for questions, with two interactive sessions to delve into how these concepts are applied. Major topics include quantification of morbidity and mortality, study design, and principles and challenges in infectious disease, behavioral disease, and genetic epidemiology, among others. The instructor has taught this material for several years and is an experienced and well-regarded epidemiologist.
